The process begins with a piece of jeweler's wax.

The wax is hand carved into the desired shape.

The ring is placed on a rubber base.

A metal flask is placed over the ring and into the base. Chrystobolite is poured around the ring.

The flask is put in an oven where the wax ring  is burned out.      (lost wax)

The silver is poured into where the wax was.

The vacuum draws bubbles and voids out of the silver.




  

The chrystobolite is broken away from the ring.

The stone is set - the ring is cleaned and polished.
